Contractor Safety Management

Bora Pharmaceuticals applies safety management standards to all contractors working on its premises. High-risk activities, such as hot work, work at height, and confined space work, require permits before and during the work. Contractors who seriously violate these standards face work stoppages and penalties under our contractor management rules and must complete retraining before resuming work.

Contractor Management Process

  1. Contractors must complete entry data application before operations.
  2. Contractors must complete entry education and training before operations.
  3. Contractors must submit applications for various high-risk operations and obtain approval.
  4. Contractors must confirm that machinery and equipment are qualified before operations.

In 2025, the Company recorded zero contractor occupational injuries at its workplaces. We will continue to strengthen contractor management through on-site inspections of equipment and activities and safety training, reducing the risk of future incidents.

Occupational Injury Statistics

Bora Pharmaceuticals prioritizes employees’ work environment and operational safety by establishing an incident reporting and investigation mechanism. Monthly statistics on incidents are compiled, with causes analyzed and preventive measures developed to strengthen internal diagnostics and achieve outstanding safety performance. The Company adopts a rigorous approach to investigating all occupational accidents at its facilities: each incident is thoroughly analyzed to identify root causes, and corrective actions are jointly developed with the relevant departments to prevent recurrence. In 2025, Bora Pharmaceuticals’ Taiwan sites recorded 9 occupational injuries, none of which were high-consequence injuries, with no severe injuries or fatalities.

Note 1: Lost-time injuries = recordable occupational injuries that result in one or more lost workdays. Note 2: Counted from the date of the injury or fatality, the total number of consecutive days lost following all injuries arising from a single case. This refers to the days on which the injured person is temporarily (or permanently) unable to return to work. It excludes the day of the injury and the day of return to work, but includes all intervening days (including Sundays, holidays and days on which the workplace was shut down), as well as any subsequent days of incapacity caused by the same incident after the person has returned to work. Note 3: High-consequence occupational injury rate = [number of high-consequence occupational injuries (excluding fatalities) × 1,000,000] / total hours worked. Note 4: Total recordable injury frequency rate (TRIFR) = (number of recordable occupational injuries × 1,000,000) / total hours worked. Note 5: Total recordable injury rate (TRIR, OSHA basis) = (number of recordable occupational injuries × 200,000) / total hours worked. Note 6: Lost time injury frequency rate (LTIFR) = (number of lost-time injuries × 1,000,000) / total hours worked. Note 7: Lost time injury rate (LTIR, OSHA basis) = (number of lost-time injuries × 200,000) / total hours worked. Note 8: Fatality rate as a result of occupational injury = (number of fatalities as a result of occupational injury × 1,000,000) / total hours worked. Note 9: Fatality rate as a result of occupational illness = (number of fatalities as a result of occupational illness × 1,000,000) / total hours worked.
