Waste and Air Pollution Management

Waste and Air Pollution Management

Management Approach:

Bora Pharmaceuticals is committed to comprehensive management of waste and air pollution, strictly complying with relevant regulations. The company promotes waste segregation, reduction, and recycling while engaging qualified contractors for waste disposal and verification. Additionally, it conducts regular monitoring of air pollutant emissions (VOCs, nitrogen oxides, sulfur oxides) to ensure concentrations remain below legal standards, aiming to achieve zero waste and environmentally friendly sustainable operations.

Policy and Goals

A. Policy

1. Waste Management Policy

  • Regularly assess the characteristics and treatment needs of waste generated during product manufacturing processes, adjusting waste disposal plans and submitting regulatory reports in response to product changes.
  • Implement waste segregation and resource recycling based on the specific characteristics of each facility, engage qualified contractors for waste disposal, and ensure full tracking of the waste removal process.
  • Conduct annual audits of waste storage areas and waste disposal contractors to ensure compliance, safety, and environmental protection in waste management and treatment.

2. Air Pollution Control Policy

  • Strictly comply with the “Air Pollution Control Act” and related regulations, ensuring comprehensive monitoring and management of air pollution sources such as VOCs and nitrogen oxides.
  • Engage qualified testing agencies to conduct annual emissions testing at facilities, ensuring emission concentrations remain well below legal standards.
  • Continuously invest in air pollution control equipment and technologies to minimize the environmental impact of stationary pollution sources, while enhancing pollution prevention management in facility operations.

B. Goals

  1. Bora Pharmaceuticals is committed to waste reduction and air pollution control, promoting environmentally friendly and sustainable development. The company ensures that waste management and air pollution control measures comply with regulatory standards, effectively reducing environmental impact.
  2. Conduct annual evaluations of the effectiveness of waste and air pollution management at its facilities, continuously optimizing treatment processes and control measures to achieve the goal of environmental sustainability.

Waste Management

Bora Pharmaceuticals complies with the Waste Disposal Act to carry out the collection, classification, and storage of waste. The company conducts online reporting as required, entrusts qualified contractors for waste removal and treatment, and verifies the receipt by the remover and processor after clearance before final disposal confirmation.

Air Pollution Management

Bora Pharmaceuticals possesses a vertically integrated pharmaceutical value chain encompassing R&D, manufacturing, and distribution. The air pollutants generated primarily include VOCs, nitrogen oxides, and sulfur oxides. In addition to complying with Taiwan’s “Air Pollution Control Act” and the “Regulations for Installation and Operation Permits of Stationary Pollution Sources,” the company regularly engages qualified testing agencies to conduct air quality testing on exhaust pipelines at its facilities. Test results consistently show that the emission concentrations of air pollutants are well below legal standards. Other air pollutant emissions are also effectively managed.
