Taipei, Taiwan, July 8, 2024 – 《HR Asia》, the leading HR magazine in Asia, recently announced the winners of the 2024 “The HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia Awards.” Bora Pharmaceuticals stood out among nearly 370 participating companies, not only winning the prestigious HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia Taiwan 2024 award for the second time but also receiving the HR Asia Most Caring Company Awards 2024, recognizing its commitment to the “People First” philosophy since its inception as one of the core competences of the Bora Group.
The HR Asia Best Companies to Work for in Asia Awards, the largest employer branding award in the Asia-Pacific region, have been a prominent event in the HR sector since their inception in Malaysia in 2013, marking the seventh year in Taiwan. This year, the awards attracted 368 companies for nominations, setting new participation records and highlighting increasing corporate emphasis on creating happy workplaces.
Mr. Bobby Sheng, Chairman and CEO of Bora Group, commented, “Employees have always been my most valued asset and pivotal to leading continuous growth across the Bora Group! I am delighted that Bora has been honored with both the Best Companies to Work for and Most Caring Company Awards this year. With 90% of the evaluation based on anonymous feedback from internal employees, covering core corporate culture, job satisfaction, team thinking, and action, Bora exceeded market averages by over 20% in all assessment categories. This recognition not only reflects the organizers’ support for Bora Group but also underscores the affirmation and cohesion of our entire workforce towards the Bora family! Achieving this amidst our recent mergers and continuous growth in workforce numbers has been particularly challenging, and I am deeply grateful for the contributions of all Bora employees and their commitment to our core values. We will continue to foster a diverse, inclusive, and transparent work environment, providing opportunities for all employees to excel and grow on the global stage alongside the company.”
Bora Group currently employs approximately 1,900 staff globally, with Taiwan and overseas staff numbers evenly split, and a gender ratio close to 1:1. The proportion of female executives in management stands at 50.57%, demonstrating Bora’s commitment to gender equality in workplace rights and equal opportunities for career development. Through recruiting international talents and providing cross-unit, cross-company, and even cross-national experiences and professional training within the group, Bora accelerates its global expansion and offers employees more international exposure and experiences, enabling the group to thrive globally. In terms of employee care, aside from quarterly town halls led by the Chairman and direct communication with all employees across group subsidiaries, the annual Family Day allows employees’ families to participate and share the core values and corporate culture cherished by Bora, significantly enhancing employee cohesion and reducing talent turnover risks. For instance, in Taiwan, over 60% of colleagues returned to work after maternity leave, and nearly 90% remained employed for over a year after their return, showcasing Bora’s efforts in caring for colleagues and creating a conducive work environment.
